Breezy Hill Update 11512
- I placed the order for the Ghee. It should be here this week.
- We have given people Kefir grains, and now we need to replace ours. If anyone has a few extras, we'd appreciate them.
- We had "dirt" hog pork chops for dinner. Wow, sure glad I found sources for them. There is no comparison with that "other white meat" in the grocery store. There will be more available in Feb.
- We went to the city last week and checked some prices and what is going on with beef. At Nature's Pantry ground beef is $5.99/#, a roast is $8.49/#, a pork roast is $8.79/#. Milk is about $10/gallon. It sure is a good feeling that we provide what we do at our prices. We stopped at the new Trader Joe's and they do have a good selection in cheeses, but their beef is awful. Their beef patties were $4.99/# and they looked to me like they had some "pink slime" mixed in. If you are not familiar with "pink slime", google it and read the NY Times article. I'm sure you will want to order ground beef from us this coming year. Their organic ground beef is $5.99 and did not even look like ground beef. Sure am glad I "know my farmer and that I know my food".
