Breezy Hill Farm Update Jun 12, 2017

            BREEZY HILL FARM WEEKLY UPDATE

  • Ground beef pick up will be this Saturday.  Those getting ground beef will be getting an email this Wednesday.  On Wednesday I will know how many pounds are available and will also know the cost for the processing.  With that I will be able to determine the price.  I have stated the price will at least $5 and not more than $5.50 per pound.  The temperature is forecasted to be in the nineties, so be sure to bring coolers.
  • Freezer beef sales have started.  This spring, with our renovated pastures, has been phenomenal.   Our hay fields have been way above average.  Our red clover and alfalfa plants were waist high.  It took an extra day for curing.
  • Interested in fryers?  Virginia is having another chicken day.  She is guaranteeing they will weigh in the 4-5 pound range.  Her email address is souscon4@gmail.com.
  • Anyone interested in having a bee hive should get Sharashkin's presentation at the past ACRE's convention,  "Beekeeping In-Depth: Capturing a Hive of Local, Adaptive Bees & Appropriate Hive Design, by Leo Sharashkin".  Go to the ACRE's web site.   We now have a hive and it is doing very well.
  • The renovation and upgrades for the house listed on Zillow are progressing.  To have someone under a lease with option to buy and for that to not materialize, resulted in numerous items not being maintained.  It's listed on Zillow for now.  As soon as we get it finished we will be listing it with an agent.  Go to Zillow.com and search under zip code 64019.  It's 3400 square feet, energy efficient home on six acres with easy access to a four lane Highway.
